Thrive as a Small or Mixed Animal DVM at Creston Veterinary Hospital!
Established by Dr. Dave Perrin, author of the “Adventures of a Country Vet” book series, our practice legacy is driven by a strong community service philosophy; we’ve been an integral hub for veterinary care in the Kootenays for nearly 50 years.
Nestled between the steep scarps of the Selkirk and Purcell mountains, we are anchored to the southern arm of Kootenay Lake by the Frog Bear Conservation Area; the proximity to this corridor makes for exceptional wildlife viewing and a diverse caseload. We see Dogs, Cats, Cows, Equine and a variety of other species living in the area.
Enjoy everything the Kootenays offers; thriving arts, culture, and adventure. Whether it’s summiting a nearby peak, cascading down the Goat River, water-skiing on Kootenay Lake, or fishing Duck Lake for an abundance of Bass, there’s something for everyone here. Creston experiences mild winters, but the nearby Kootenay pass receives a startling amount of snow and offers outstanding snowmobiling and skiing. We’re less than 1.5 hours from 4 world-class resorts: Whitewater, Red Mountain, Kimberly, and Schweitzer in the USA.
We are committed to a positive environment with a strong focus on personal, professional, and financial growth. We are offering a salary between $90,000 - $200,000 based on full-time hours, unlimited earnings potential through our production bonus program, and a comprehensive employer-paid health benefits package. Paid licensing dues, a veterinary discount, paid personal emergency days, and an unlimited CE allowance round out our total compensation package. A relocation allowance is also available for out-of-town candidates.
If you’re looking for a progressive environment where everyone is heard and recognized for their unique contributions, we’d love to talk. Text call or email Matt at 289-218-7041 or careers@crestonvet.com to arrange a conversation to learn more.

ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN OPPORTUNITY
COMPANION ANIMAL
Are you tired of feeling like you're practicing veterinary medicine with one hand tied behind your back because top-down management structures keep telling you what you can do and how to do it? If you're ready to end that frustration and be the best that you can be, then we have a job for you.
Our HR strategy is to hire good people then create an environment where they can be the best that they can be. We give our associates free reign to practice how they see fit, then sit back and be impressed by their untapped potential.
Our practice is privately owned, modern and well equipped. We have an excellent team which includes 6 other veterinarians with very low turnover. Our vets work a maximum of 4 days per week and are paid on a salary basis, not by commission. We are currently open Monday to Saturday, but are in the process of switching to being a Monday to Friday practice. We also have a full roster of skilled RVTs, again with very low turnover, allowing 1 to 2 RVT per vet per day staff scheduling. Additionally, we have very knowledgeable receptionists, administrative, and other support staff.
Our clinic is located in Kamloops, in the beautiful South Central area of British Columbia. The area abounds with skiing, golfing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing and many other outdoor activities. Kamloops is a small city of just over 100,000 people, with ample schools, shopping, theatre, arts, and cultural activities. Kamloops also has a newly built 24 hour veterinary, emergency hospital which means you would not be required to do any emergency call.
We offer a very competitive wage, flexible part-time or full-time shifts, and a solid benefits package. We are very flexible with shift scheduling for vets with small children or other family obligations. Wage is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually and would be based on work schedule decided upon.
